Content/Use of Research Materials Student uses no collected data. Student uses some data to support ideas. Student uses data to support ideas, but cannot connect data to relevant material. Student uses data collected and connects it with proper subject matter when presenting.
Understanding of Subject Matter Student doesn't have a grasp of the information; cannot answer questions about subject. Student is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only obvious questions. Student is at ease with expected answers to all questions but can not elaborate clearly on the response. Student demonstrates full knowledge--more than required--and answers all questions with explanations.
Presentation Skills Student reads report, makes no eye contact, has no graphics and speaks too quietly for entire classroom to hear and understand. Student makes occasional eye contact, reads most of report, has few graphics and class still has trouble hearing. Student maintains eye contact for the majority of the time, returns to notes on regular basis, has adequate graphics and most of the audience can hear. Student maintains eye contact, refers to notes only once or twice, has graphics that correspond to material and uses a clear, projective voice, making it easy for class to hear and understand.
Organization Audience cannot understand presentation because it has no organization of material. Audience has difficulty following presentation because student jumps from topic to topic. Student presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow clearly. Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence and keeps the attention of the audience.
Overall Appearance Student had no thought of changing attire for presentation, is not at all  prepared, and has no powerpoint. Student is somewhat dressed for occasion, is ill prepared, and has only a few slides in a powerpoint presentation. Student is dressed more appropriately, seems somewhat prepared, yet the powerpoint detracts from the overall presentation. Student is dressed professionally, is well prepared, and the powerpoint did not deter the attention of the audience.
